Houston City Council Member Views Medical Innovations at Methodist
Dr. Brian Dunkin, center, medical director of the Methodist Institute for Technology, Innovation and Education, explains a robotic surgical system to visitors during Leadership Grand Rounds on April 17. The guests, which included Houston city councilman Peter Brown (just left of center), were all given white laboratory coats.
Houston City Council Member Peter Brown (At Large, Position 1) joined a group of visitors to The Methodist Hospital on April 17 to get a behind-the-scenes look at the hospital’s ongoing research and medical care innovations. Council member Brown, an architect, city planner and 2009 Houston mayoral candidate, joined civic leaders, board members and others with an interest in health care at Methodist’s monthly Leadership Grand Rounds. The grand rounds event at Methodist is an exclusive, physician-led, behind-the-scenes look into the work that goes on at the hospital every day. Guests are offered a glimpse into medical advances and technology currently being developed. Leadership Grand Rounds was created to give members of the community a unique opportunity to learn in detail about the health care industry and Methodist’s impact on the future of
patient care. Mr. Brown commended our extraordinarily talented workforce, saying Methodist is one of Houston’s strongest assets.
