Laparoscopic Inguinal Hernia Repair
Event Duration: 1.5 days
This course is for surgeons new to the technique of laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair or those who have not been satisfied with their initial experience performing this technique. A systematic review of pertinent anatomy as well as a standardized method of access to the preperitoneal space will be emphasized. Key tips to each stage of the repair will be demonstrated and strategies to avoid complications will be emphasized. A review of mesh prosthesis is included as well along with a discussion of managing recurrent hernias.

Minimizing Minimally Invasive Surgery
Event Duration: 2 days
This course is for laparoscopic surgeons who want to minimize the invasiveness of their procedures. Strategies for reducing the number of ports as well as reducing port and instrumentation size will be reviewed. The natural extension to single incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS) and even endoluminal therapies for surgeons will also be emphasized. A hands-on procedural training lap will provide experience with 2mm and 3mm instrumentation, cutting edge visualization platforms, and SILS technology.
